WNBA Being Bias and Kaman…. Shut Up!

The Olympics are under way, we all get to watch games every other day (if you are lucky enough to have the channel or at least get to catch them online) and we are watching Team USA’s Women’s Dream Team breeze through their opponents. LJ, Tully, and PT seem to be doing well too……..

Oh yeah, and Becky Hammon and her Russian teammates are undefeated so far also. But it is funny to me (and I am sure other fans as well) how I can go to wnba.com and see Team USA and LJ on the front page damn near everyday but no sight of Hammon. Seem’s a little bias to me.

Since Day 1 of Hammon announcing that she would play for Russia in the Olympics the wnba.com has been hesitant to cover it. They never ran their own official story, they just picked up a few headlines here and there from around the web, but thats it.

And during the Diamond Ball Tournament they were so quick to put Becky’s pic on the front page of wnba.com and say “Hammon Loses First Game For Russia” ….. WHAT!?! REWIND!!?? That headline its self is degrading! She didn’t lose it FOR Russia, they lost it as a team. Can you imagine if Team USA lost a game and the wnba.com put up a headline that said, “Lawson Blows It For Team USA” … of course you can’t imagine that, cause it wouldn’t happen… well at least the headline anyway.

Now that its officially the Olympics there have been no pics of Hammon on the front page of the wnba.com but there will always be a pic of Team USA, which is expected, and of the Aussies. Why the Aussies? What makes Lauren Jackson any different than Becky Hammon? Absolutely nothing. Hell I think Penny Taylor is getting more coverage than Becky Hammon and PT isn’t even in the league this season! So how is this justified?

And what is up with Chris Kaman!? Is this dude reaching for attention. He is comparing the criticism he is getting to the heat Becky Hammon caught…. is he out of his mind? The only heat he is catching is heat that he is saying he is catching, cause up to this point I haven’t seen any articles where writers are lashing out at him the way they lashed out at Hammon.

There is a big difference in the Kaman/Hammon situation, fact is Kaman could have never made Team USA and chose to live his dream elsewhere. Hammon on the other hand is one of the best in the WNBA and even Team USA members have said she could have and should have made the team. Not to mention Milton-Jones stating that Hammon got a raw deal in the entire situation.

So can someone please tap Kaman on the shoulder and tell him to shut the hell up, he doesn’t get to play the victim here.
